Although it looks like a peaceful, free-flowing river, this tree-lined waterway is an original design by Curt Cooper of Avalon Pools.

The South Atlanta homeowners wanted the pool to reflect the look and feel of the Chattahoochie River, located directly behind the property. With its vanishing edge lined by a massive row of gently drooping native trees, this creation mirrors Mother Nature with a stunning finesse.

The owners also desired a splendid place to entertain, as well as a mix of water features that could be seen from any vantage point in the house, including the basement.

The major stumbling block was the terrain: Because the home was built on a hillside, workers had to flatten the site and demolish pieces of past houses to make room for the pool. Once the old was out and the new was in, the builder set to work, adding several waterfalls and blending the overall formality with the natural design features.

With its lush vegetation and peaceful ambiance this waterway beckons to outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Swim fans are able to delight in this river throughout many warm Georgia days and relaxing starry-skied nights.
