This custom-built waterway located in Canton, Georgia was built into a 45-degree sloped hillside. Designed by Curt Cooper of Avalon Pools, the gradation created ideal conditions for the construction of a vanishing edge pool. The homeowners, who desired a pool to serve both entertainment and aesthectic needs, chose Avalon Pools for their expertise and their reputation within the Atlanta metro area.

Though a vanishing edge was a natural choice for the sloped project site, the elevation change did cause its fair share of problems. The intiial plans had to be altered several times in order to create a workable design. The final plans included a seven-by-24-foot long retaining wall with steps.

Special features of the pool include a 30-inch vanishing edge with catch basin. A spillover spa pours into one side of the larger pool, and a custom-built creek trickles into the shallow-depth side. A rock bridge creates a walkway over the creek. Large, strategically placed boulders contribute to the overall naturalistic ambiance of the poolscape. The final result is a unique waterway that lends both entertainment and aeshtetic value to the home.
